Question: When I removed the lampshade, I accidentally cracked the part of the lamp holder that holds the lampshade in position. Do I need to buy a new lamp?
Answer: It should not be necessary to buy a new lamp. In most cases you can purchase a new lamp or bulb holder at your local big box home improvement center. If it is an older lamp, you may have to go to a lighting supply house to find an exact replacement part.
If you are concerned about replacing the lamp or bulb holder, many lighting supply retailers and wholesalers will do lamp repair for a fee.
