Problem: Excessive noise transmission through the floor, especially footstep and impact sound.
Cause: Flanking transmission down the walls.
Solutions:
- Attach drywall to ceilings and both sides of walls using resilient metal furring. This reduces flanking sound travelling down the walls to the room below as shown in Figure 18a and 18b.
