Problem: Excessive noise transmission between bathrooms.
Cause: Drywall behind bathtubs is not extended completely to the floor.
Solutions:
- Complete the sound-barrier wall before the bathtubs are installed. If necessary, install additional drywall with the tubs as shown in Figure 19.

Cause: Bathroom medicine cabinets are mounted back-to-back on a common wall.
Solutions: Mount medicine cabinets on a wall that is not a party wall, Figure 20a.

- Surface mount the cabinets, mount them resiliently and provide them with a mechanism to close the doors softly as shown in Figure 20b.
