Brick veneer (Figure 1) can provide a durable, non-combustible and maintenance-free cladding system when properly installed.
At the same time, poor design and poor workmanship can result in defects requiring costly repairs. Problems that can occur with brick veneer installations include water penetration through the cladding to the interior wall assembly, trapped moisture in the cavity, and eventually, cracking of the cladding itself.
