Alternative 2:
This alternative presupposes that you have access from the attic above the receptacles.
Figure 3 - Running new electrical cable in attic
To implement this alternative you drill holes in the upper wall plate, from the attic, above each of the receptacles. The major challenge in this alternative is to actually identify the location to drill the holes. One technique is to drill a 1/8 inch hole in the ceiling perpendicular to the receptacle and shove a coat hanger through the hole. Find the coat hanger in the attic and by knowing the distance from the wall to the hole, you should be able to determine the position of the upper wall plate and hence precisely where to drill the hole into the wall plate.
It is most likely that you will have to make a hole a couple of inches square above each of the receptacles in order to fish the wire into the receptacles electrical box.
Alternative 3:
This alternative runs the wire up the wall and across the door header (just above).
Figure 4 - Running new electrical cable above door header
This alternative will require that some additional holes be made in the wall in order to fish the cable. Holes will be needed directly above the receptacles for access to the electrical boxes and above the receptacles above the new doorway header, where the cable makes a 90 degree turn. Depending on the distance from the header to the receptacles it may be easier to cut a 1 inch channel through the drywall. A channel can be easier to repair then a number of holes.

Alternative 4:
This alternative works well when the distance between the receptacles is more than 6 feet.
