Solutions:
- Install waste pipes away from quiet areas and do not let them contact the building structure directly. Enclose them in separate pipe chases with extra noise reduction material if necessary.
Cause: Bathtub, shower or toilet rigidly attached to building structure,
Solutions:
- Use rubber, neoprene or other resilient pads to reduce vibration transmitted into the structure.
Cause: A noisy toilet solidly connected to the floor.
Solutions:
- Install siphon-jet toilets. They are much quieter than conventional units.
- Install toilets on resilient bases.
