Step 11:
Now is the time to insulate and install vapor barriers in the attic space. Your geographic location will determine the R
value of the insulation that you should be using. You can use batt insulation or foam, or a combination. Use whatever suits the construction circumstances best.

Step 12:
Install the ceiling and wall finishing material. This can be drywall, paneling, tongue and groove wall boards or any combination that suits the room’s function and your likes and dislikes.
Note: It will probably be necessary to remove any temporary lighting that you installed before finishing the ceiling. If the room is dark use portable lighting, which can be purchased or rented in order to provide adequate lighting until the new livable attic space is completely finished.
Step 13:
Door frames, if any are to be added should be installed now. If you are staining, rather than painting the door frames, do step 14 before step 13. I would also install the doors at this time.
Step 14:
Any painting that is required should be undertaken now.
Step 15:
Install wall switches, receptacles and light fixtures.
Step 16:
Step 16 is the installation of the finished flooring material. You may wish to have some sheets of Masonite available to place on top of the finished flooring while you complete the next few steps. You may also find that removing the doors, popping the hinge bolts, provides easier access to complete the finished flooring, although this procedure is relative to what type of flooring you are installing.
Step 17:
Install any baseboard moldings and door trims. If they are to be painted, paint them before installation and then do any paint touch-up that may be required after they are installed.
